Harassment does not discriminate. It can be suffered by a woman (mainly), but also by a man. Regardless of color or creed. Political beliefs or social status. It's a pandemic.
Research shows that one in three workers has experienced harassment at least once in their life. Of all these cases, very few become known, even in the immediate environment of the victim. Of the cases that are made known in almost all of them, there will be a portion of people who will say: "he wanted them", "he did it for a little publicity", "he wants to blackmail to get money", "this happens to everyone. What to do now?”, “now he remembered”. Phrases that in recent days we read and hear constantly (fortunately from a few).
Of course, it is certain that Madonna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Terry Crews, Brendan Fraser and Sofia Bekatorou did not need more fame or money. And No this is not normal and Yes at some point needs to be said.
But why would someone harass another person? In the 21st century? Does he miss sex? No. This is certain. Harassment is not about sex. It is clearly a show of force.
Much of the above was testified by Gretchen Carlson, a former model and current journalist in America.
Another victim of sexual harassment whose legal battle made headlines.
Harassment is a form of bullying. One of the worst. And many times someone, somewhere, has seen or heard something. Yes the victim may have difficulty speaking, but you who have realized what is happening SPEAK UP. Don't be silent. If you think it doesn't concern you, you are wrong. Tomorrow you will be in this position. Or your child. SPEAK.
Be a helper and supporter of the victim. Don't close your eyes and ears. Be the beginning to end this scourge
